Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 10, 2026
This policy describes the information Lexicon (the iOS and macOS app) collects, why, and how we use it. It is written in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, email [email protected] and we'll explain.
What we collect from you directly
Almost nothing.
- Searches and search history stay on your device. They're stored in iOS user defaults and never transmitted to our servers.
- Feedback you send through the in-app form is transmitted to our server (
lexicon.anapaapps.com) so we can read and respond. The submission includes your message, optional email if you provide one, and a snapshot of your platform / OS version / device model / app version+build / locale to help us reproduce bugs. Your IP address and User-Agent are recorded by the receiving server (standard for any HTTP request).
Third-party services
The iOS app integrates the following SDKs. These are governed by their providers' own privacy policies, linked below.
Firebase Analytics (Google)
We use Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate usage — how many people open the app, which features get used, retention over time. Firebase collects anonymous identifiers, device info, and event data per Google's documentation.
We do not use this data to identify individual users.
Reference: Firebase Analytics privacy.
Firebase Crashlytics (Google)
Crashlytics records crash logs (stack traces, device state) when the app crashes, so we can fix bugs. The reports are tied to anonymous installation IDs, not user identity.
Reference: Firebase privacy.
Google Mobile Ads
Lexicon displays banner ads on iOS via the Google Mobile Ads SDK unless you've purchased the "Remove Ads" upgrade. Ad serving may use device identifiers (such as the Identifier for Advertisers) for measurement and personalization, subject to your iOS App Tracking Transparency choices.
The macOS app does not show ads and does not load this SDK at all.
Reference: Google ads & privacy.
StoreKit 2 (Apple)
The "Remove Ads" upgrade is processed by Apple's StoreKit. We do not see your payment information; Apple does. We only see whether your device has an active entitlement for the upgrade.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data to anyone.
- We don't profile you for advertising on our own.
- We don't ship a tracking SDK that crosses the line into "personal information collection" beyond what's listed above.
- We don't require an account or login.
Children
Lexicon is rated 4+ and is appropriate for all ages. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. The data we collect (per the sections above) is anonymous.
Your choices
- Limit ad tracking via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or by denying the App Tracking Transparency prompt. Lexicon respects that choice.
- Reset your advertising identifier via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Allow Apps to Request to Track.
- Delete the app to clear all on-device data including your search history.
- Request deletion of any feedback you've sent us by emailing [email protected] from the address you submitted with.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, surface a notice in the app.
